Description

This flocculent barred spiral galaxy is located 75 million light years away in the constellation of Leo at a declination of +15 degrees.  It is a magnitude 12 galaxy which spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 60,000 light years.  Our view of the disk is about 40 degrees, slightly closer to face-on than edge-on.

This looks like a much more distant version of NGC 7793.

Many distant galaxies are seen in the background, far outnumbering the stars.
